Regretfully, the NAF Hartpury Festival of Dressage, NAF Hartpury Showjumping Spectacular, FEI European Championships for Young Riders and Juniors, and NAF International Hartpury Horse Trials have been cancelled.

Carl Hester enjoys unanimous victory in Le Mieux Grand Prix

Carl Hester made his presence felt on Day 2 at the Hartpury Festival of Dressage, winning the Le Mieux Grand Prix with Nip Tuck. The 15-year-old son of Don Ruto put in a stunning performance in the sunshine to complete on a score of 73.98%.

Nip Tuck returned to competition at Keysoe following a break since the European Championships in Gothenburg. He has now earned qualification for the National Championships later in the year. Speaking after his test, Carl Hester said he was “delighted” with the performance.

Carl Hester returns to the International Arena on Friday evening (18:32) in the CDI Grand Prix aboard his own, Lady Anne Evans and Ann Cory’s Hawtins Delicato.

Charlotte Dujardin also enjoyed success on the second day of competition with Mount St John Valencia picking up her second win of the show in the Saracen Horse Feeds FEI Intermediate I. The chestnut scored 76.84% in the International Arena, improving on her score from the first day.

Charlotte has been drawn as the final rider in the CDI Grand Prix on Friday with the Mount St John Stud owned, Mount St John Freestyle. The pair will perform their test in the International Arena at 19:06. They’ll also perform to music during Saturday’s action-packed Gala Evening.

In the other Intermediate I class, Rebecca Hughes and Ibisco earned top honours with a score of 69.47%.

The Elite Stallions Prix St Georges Qualifier saw Jayne Turney and Penhaligon’s Jupiter earn a score of 71.62%. The top eight combinations go forward to Saturday’s gala final.

In the CPEDI3* team competition, Great Britain took top honours. Freestyle para-dressage action gets underway on Friday in the Hartpury Arena.

Spectators enjoyed a sparkling summer day with temperatures peaking at 26 celsius. Competitive action continues throughout the weekend with tickets available to buy on the gate.
